QuickArrow Expands Web Knowledge Management and Collaboration Capabilities

AUSTIN, TX. - February 6, 2001...QuickArrow, Inc. announced today the release of a powerful new knowledge management/collaboration module for its Enterprise Consulting Suite (ECS). The new module will enable IT firms, systems integrators, software consultants, application developers and similar professional services organizations to increase their collection of services best practices and decrease their cycle time in starting new projects.
Developed specifically for the professional services industry, the advanced knowledge management/collaboration component in QuickArrow's Enterprise Consulting Suite gives professional services firms a competitive edge by helping them build on and leverage two of their most valuable assets — people and knowledge. The collaboration module enables them to capture and refine knowledge gained through project delivery, standardize their processes, implement best practices, and build organizational "group memory."

QuickArrow's knowledge management/collaboration module delivers robust and scalable document storage and retrieval, project workspaces, project templates, best practices, threaded discussion groups, document check-in/check-out, version control and frequently asked questions. Users can e-mail documents directly to ECS, or use the drag-and-drop functionality to place them into the ECS collaborative workspace. An offline capability enables users to lock and check out documents for remote working, and check them back into the system later. The software uses Verity's full-text search engine to return context-based responses, locating and retrieving data in the shortest possible time. In addition, ECS collaboration constantly monitors any specified folder or Web site and alerts users to changes by e-mail.
